New student registration

Have more questions? Submit a request

Admitted applicants who initially submitted unofficial transcripts must have their official transcripts submitted prior to registering for their first course.  Transcripts are only deemed official if they are received directly from the degree granting institution or third party provider to ep-transcripts@jhu.edu.  Please see this webpage for more details.

After you have accepted our offer of admission, you should:

  1. Submit your official transcripts if you hadn’t already done so when applying.  Please reference our web page for instructions on submitting your official transcript requirements.  Receive a confirmation email from ep-transcripts@jhu.edu that your official transcripts have been received and verified 3-5 days once you have electronically submitted your transcripts.  Instructions on sending official transcripts via mail delivery is also on our website.

  2. Activate your student account using your assigned JHED ID (i.e., your Hopkins identification number) which will be sent to you from SIS-noreply@jhu.edu within 1-2 days after you receive the email from ep-transcrips@jhu.edu referenced above.   (If you do not know your JHED ID and/or your password, please review our helpful JHED Instructional Guide.)Read our welcome letter from ep-admissions@jhu.edu that assigns you an academic advisor which will be sent 1-2 days after you have received your JHED ID.If you do not receive any of this information beginning with a transcript confirmation email, please reach out to ep-transcripts@jhu.edu to help you start the enrollment process.

  3. Make sure registration is currently open by checking the academic calendar. Note that by continuing to register, you are taking responsibility for payment of your courses and for any financial penalty you incur for any dropped courses according to the refund schedule.  Go to the SIS website and log in using your JHED ID.

  4. Click on the Registration tab, then click on My Cart to register for your courses.

  5. Please contact SEAM with any issue you are having with your registration.

*Keep in mind that your admissions coordinator and your advisor are available to help you with the registration process—and to help you decide which courses to take in which term.
